The Queer Country art exhibition celebrates the talents, vision and experiences of queer artists from Bendigo and rural and regional Victoria. 2024 will be our 16th year and you can be part of this venerable art institution! Queer Country runs as part of the Bendigo Pride Festival.

Art Exhibition: 10am-6pm Friday 15th -Sunday 17th March

Opening night: Friday 15th March @ 6-8pm
Entries submitted by: Friday 16th February 2024
Drop off art work: Wednesday 13th March 2024 Between 10-4pm
Pick up Sunday 24th between 1 – 5pm
We are looking for art in any media. Subject matter is up to the artist but preference will be given to artworks that address themes and issues relating to the LGBTQIA+ community. Artworks will be selected by a committee. Artists are asked to present their work ready to exhibit, framed or in a manner that can be hung on a suspended strap system. There is floor space for freestanding works but artists are asked to provide any props or plinths required to exhibit their work, or any instructions required for their display.

Queer Country Conditions of Entry
The exhibition is open to all local & regional artists. Works chosen for the exhibition will be pre-selected from images sent to Queer Country Art Exhibition. Due to the available exhibition space there may be a limit to the number of works that can be displayed. All personal information collected will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Queer Country Art Exhibition.
Artists must arrange for the delivery and collection of their works. The Queer Country exhibition curator will be responsible for hanging the exhibition however we appreciate artists assisting at the installation of the exhibition. The Queer Country exhibition curator will also be responsible for labeling the work.
There is no charge to exhibit and no commission on sold artworks. Any enquiries regarding sales of artwork from the general public will be directed to the artist.
Our staff will take all care while handling your work and security while your artwork is displayed, however Insurance is the responsibility of the artist. Artworks will not be insured by Queer Country Art. Queer Country Art and Bendigo Pride will not be responsible for any loss or damage suffered to any artworks in its care and each entrant shall indemnify Queer Country Art and Bendigo Pride against loss or damages suffered to their artwork. Artists selected for exhibition will allow their works to be reproduced by print and electronic media in the advertising and promotion of the exhibition, unless stated in the entry form.
